Patient education

Patient Education šŸ‘©ā€šŸ«

šŸ§If I have pain, tiredness and fatigue symptoms, I would want to know the cause.

ā˜¹ļøRecently I had a women's health issue and I knew I was getting anxious to know what was going onā“

šŸ§ I was given numerousĀ tests and prescriptions which made my symptoms worse.

šŸ˜©I was told different diagnoses in the matter of 3 - 6 months - this made me more anxious and frustrated.Ā

ā˜¹ļøIt is a terrible feeling when your body behaves a certain way and you lack control

šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøI did google my symptoms ( embarrassed) it only caused me more frustration

šŸ˜€Luckily , I did ask questions and they were answered by a healthcare professional who listened and understood my concerns.

šŸ˜ŠThis incident has increased my empathy .

šŸ™ I believe after this experience I understand why anyone struggles with the ONE question - What is wrong with ME?"

Patient education by healthcare professionals - is crucial- Ā It is rightly said -Ā

Each patient carries his own doctor inside him.ā€ā€”Norman Cousins,Ā Anatomy of an Illness

Patient education conversations include the following -

  • What is the condition?

  • Prevalence

  • Causes

  • Symptoms

  • DiagnosisĀ

  • Treatment /Management

Ultimately it is about empowering the patient-Ā

ā€œwhat do they think and want to doā€

šŸ‘‚When a healthcare professional takes time to explain the issue in simple terms- patientĀ  understands it better and manages their condition even better.

āœ…When we know what is causing the issueĀ

āœ…We implement the suggestions given by healthcare professionalsĀ

āœ…Treat it with suggested management techniquesĀ

āœ…Implement day-to-day strategies suggested to improve functionĀ

āœ…Adopt preventative measuresĀ

šŸ™So please ask questions when you see healthcare professional they will explain and allow you to understand the problem/ issue better

āœ…Book with us for a holistic assessment and solution because WE LISTEN TO YOU
